Overview
Basic Life Support(BLS) is a level of medical training that teaches healthcare professionals and others how to respond to cardiac arrests and other emergency situations. BLS training covers skills such as:
*CPR(cardiopulmonary resuscitation) for adults,children, and infants
*using an automated external defibrillator(AED)
*Relief of choking
*Rescue breathing
BLS training is typically provided by organizations such as the American Heart Association(AHA) and is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to emergency situations and provide care until advanced medical help arrives. BLS certification is often required for healthcare professionals and is typically valid for two years.
